FIS (Международная лыжная федерация) предложила федерациям зимних видов спорта выступить против переноса чемпионата мира 2022 года в Катаре на зиму, опасаясь, что это повредит их собственным соревнованиям, сообщает официальный сайт организации. На вчерашнем заседании совета FIS было решено, что она постарается подготовить совместную с остальными шестью федерациями (Международный союз биатлонистов, Международная федерация бобслея и тобоггана, Всемирная федерация керлинга, Международная федерация хоккея на льду, Международный союз конькобежцев, Международная федерация санного спорта) резолюцию в адрес ФИФА и возможного переноса ЧМ-2022 с лета на зиму. В FIS опасаются, что проведение футбольного чемпионата мира зимой существенно скажется на интересе зрителей и спонсоров к зимним видам спорта.
